Toulouse Vineyard

Anderson Valley
Philo, Mendocino County

This vineyard is an important touchstone for MacPhail, one of the first vineyards we sourced fruit from, beginning with the 2002 vintage.  Today, MacPhail is the only winery sourcing fruit here, with most of the vineyard used for the newly established Toulouse brand.  The first 15 acres were planted by Vern and Maxine Boltz in 1998, and another 6 followed, along with 1 acre of Riesling.  Vern was an Oakland Fire Captain and Maxine traveled the world for United Airlines before retirement. It sits in the cool Anderson Valley just 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean, in what’s known as the Deep End.
